Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 October 2026

Nurturing Families collects personal information to provide our programmes and services, including support referred to us by agencies and caseworkers, our volunteer programmes and seasonal drives. This policy explains how we handle that information.

What we collect Depending on how you engage with us, we may collect names, contact details, and information about the families and children we support (for example ages, needs and interests). We may also collect details about volunteers, donors and the agencies that refer to us.

How we use it We use personal information only to deliver and coordinate our services. That includes processing referrals, matching support with families, communicating with caseworkers, volunteers and donors, and keeping records.

How we store and share it Information is stored securely in our Google Workspace account, and only our staff and authorised volunteers can access it. We do not sell personal information. We share it only where needed to deliver a service, for example giving a volunteer the details they need to support a family, or where the law requires it. We keep information only as long as we need it, then delete it.

Our Google-based tools We use internal tools built on Google Workspace (such as Google Sheets and Apps Script) to manage our programmes. When a staff member or authorised volunteer uses these tools, Google asks them to allow access. The tools then read and update our spreadsheets and documents, create and send emails on our behalf, identify the signed-in user’s email address, and run scheduled updates. They are used only for Nurturing Families’ work.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your rights Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you.
